Executive Presbytery Officers of Assemblies of God, Ghana mobilise South West Region for World Congress

The Executive Presbytery Officers of Assemblies of God, Ghana, led by the General Superintendent, Rev. Stephen Wengam, have embarked on a World Congress mobilisation tour of the South West Region.

The visit was aimed at sensitising the rank and file of the church about the importance of the upcoming historic event and rallying members to help make it a monumental success.

The meeting, held at Word of Life Assemblies of God in Anaji, Takoradi, brought together the Executive Presbytery Officers and pastors from across the region.

In attendance were the Assistant General Superintendent, Rev. Kwadwo Boateng Bempah; the host Regional Superintendent, Rev. Noble Brister; the Chairman of the Congress Planning Committee, Rev. Andrews Awintia; and the Vice Chairman of the Congress Planning Committee and Chief Executive Officer of Evolution Ghana, Mr. Fred Darko.

SIGNIFICANT BENEFITS
Addressing the pastors, Rev. Wengam highlighted what he described as the significant benefits of the World Congress to Assemblies of God, Ghana. He said the Congress would give the church greater visibility, strengthen its voice in the nation and contribute to numerical growth, among other benefits.

He therefore urged pastors, leaders and members to support and fully participate in the event.

The Assistant General Superintendent, Rev. Bempah, led a fundraising session in support of the Congress budget.

Mr. Fred Darko said although the Congress would be a brief event, it would leave an enduring legacy. He noted that nations bid to host the World Cup and other major global events because of their lasting benefits, and called on the church to seize the opportunity and make history.

ACCOMODATION
The Chairman of the Congress Planning Committee, Rev. Awintia, appealed to members and pastors to open their homes to guests to help ease accommodation challenges.

The meeting ended with a prayer session for the success of the Congress.
