Assemblies of God, Ghana Head Office receives fresh look as World Congress preparations intensify

The Head Office of Assemblies of God, Ghana, in Accra, is receiving a fresh look as portions of the facility undergo painting ahead of the church’s major international event, the World Assemblies of God Fellowship Congress.

The refreshed frontage also features a newly installed fence-mounted sign and pole-mounted banners, giving the Head Office a more renewed appearance.

A banner has also been fixed to the Head Office building, facing the main entrance and adding to the renewed look of the premises.

The signs and banners are intended to draw public attention, while serving as visible reminders of the church’s presence and its preparations to host the historic World Congress.

But beyond the fresh paint and renewed frontage is a much bigger story—the journey of Assemblies of God, Ghana, and the preparations now underway to host thousands of delegates from Ghana and around the world.

The World Congress is scheduled for October 14 to 16, 2026, in Accra, under the theme “Commissioned: One Mandate, Every Nation,” based on Matthew 28:18–20. The Congress will feature conference sessions and major evening revival rallies at the Accra Sports Stadium.

PREPARATIONS
Preparations have moved beyond planning, with the Local Organising Committee, chaired by Rev. Andrews Nelson Awintia, coordinating the event and working with stakeholders and partners.

Media preparations have also been stepped up as part of efforts to increase publicity and visibility for the Congress.

The church has also placed considerable emphasis on the spiritual preparation for the gathering with national prayer retreats dedicated to praying for the Congress.

MOBILISATION
Mobilisation has continued within the church, while preparations have also involved engagement with national institutions.

With the Congress now only weeks away, attention is turning increasingly to the final stages of logistics, mobilisation, publicity, security and hospitality.

For a church that has journeyed through generations, the refurbishment of its Head Office may appear to be a modest development.

But the freshened building and the preparations taking place around it offer a visible picture of a church preparing not only to host a major global gathering, but also to showcase its growth, organisation and capacity to the world.
