Executive Presbytery Officers visit Northern Region for World Congress mobilisation

The Executive Presbytery Officers of Assemblies of God, Ghana, led by the General Superintendent, Rev. Stephen Wengam, have visited the Northern Region as part of the ongoing nationwide mobilisation ahead of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship Congress.

The meeting, held at the Sanctuary of Wind and Fire Assemblies of God in Tamale, brought together pastors from the church’s five administrative regions of the North — North West, North East, Northern “B,” Upper East “A” and Upper East “B.” The event was to sensitise them, rally the rank and file of the church towards a successful hosting of the historic meeting.

ATTENDANCE
In attendance were the Assistant General Superintendent, Rev. Kwadwo Boateng Bempah; North West Regional Superintendent and host, Rev. Jonathan Abraham; Chairman of the Congress Planning Committee, Rev. Andrews Awintia; General Treasurer, Rev. Simon Abu Baba; North East Regional Superintendent, Rev. Baba Alhassan; Northern “B” Regional Superintendent, Rev. Yeboah; Upper East “A” Regional Superintendent, Rev. Albert Adeladu; and Upper East “B” Regional Superintendent, Rev. Timothy Tarinya.

GREATER VISIBILITY
Addressing the pastors, Rev. Wengam highlighted the potential benefits of hosting the World Congress, noting that the event would give Assemblies of God, Ghana, greater national visibility and a stronger voice in national discourse, while also serving as a catalyst for numerical growth and spiritual renewal.

He therefore charged pastors, leaders and members to take ownership of the Congress and ensure full participation.

The Assistant General Superintendent, Rev. Bempah, led a fundraising session in support of the Congress budget, while the General Treasurer, Rev. Simon Abu Baba, led participants in fervent intercessory prayer for the upcoming Congress.

The Chairman of the Planning Committee, Rev. Awintia, appealed to members and pastors in Accra to open their homes to guests to help ease accommodation challenges. He also called on local pastors to mobilise and facilitate the participation of church members and leaders.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the host church, Sanctuary of Wind and Fire Assemblies of God, led by its Senior Pastor, Rev. Aaron Lambon Fant, surprised Rev. Wengam with a belated birthday celebration.

The church office was beautifully branded with photographs of Rev. Wengam and birthday messages, while a documentary highlighting his ministry was displayed on a television screen.

The meeting ended on a high note, with renewed commitment from the northern sector towards the successful hosting of the World Congress.
