WAGF Congress signals new season for Ghana- Bishop Saah

The President of Dominion Theological Seminary at the Action Chapel International, Bishop Emeritus James Kwaku Saah, has described the upcoming World Assemblies of God Fellowship(WAGF) Congress in Accra as a “very prophetic moment.”

He said the decision to host the international gathering in Ghana could signify the opening of a new season for the country.

The Congress, scheduled to take place in Accra from October 14 to 16, 2026, is bringing together ministers, leaders and members of the Assemblies of God movement from different parts of the world.

Speaking to AGTV in Accra, ahead of the Congress, Bishop Saah said Ghana’s hosting of the gathering after it had been held in several parts of the world should be viewed as more than just an international Christian event.

PROPHETIC MOMENT
Bishop Saah said the arrival of the Congress on Ghanaian soil could have a significant spiritual implication for the nation.

“I believe this is a very, very prophetic moment,” he said, adding that the Congress should have “some prophetic reference.”

He noted that Ghana had, for many years, looked forward to an opportunity of hosting such a gathering.

According to him, the decision to hold the Congress in Accra could be an indication that “God must be opening a certain door that has never been opened.”

Bishop Saah further described the Congress as an opportunity for the Ghanaian Christian community to build stronger relationships with ministers and believers from across the world.

NEW SEASON
The Action Chapel bishop said he believes the gathering could usher Ghana into a new spiritual season, with the potential to bring greater understanding of the Christian faith and strengthen fellowship within the body of Christ.

“For me personally, as a leader in the body of Christ by the grace of God, I believe with a certain prophetic reference that this is a new season for Ghana,” he said.

He expressed hope that the congress would bring “great grace upon this nation”, as well as greater enlightenment and a deeper understanding of God’s grace.

GLOBAL FELLOWSHIP
Bishop Saah also welcomed ministers and Christian leaders who will travel to Ghana for the Congress, describing the gathering as an opportunity for fellowship, friendship and the exchange of experiences.

He revealed that his personal connection with Assemblies of God dates back to the early 1980s, when he became a Christian and desired to attend an Assemblies of God Bible school.

He said although he was unable to attend because he could not secure the required local sponsorship at the time, the experience left him with fond memories of the denomination.

Bishop Saah said he now looks forward to fellowshipping with ministers from different parts of the world and building new relationships during the Congress.

He urged Ghanaians to extend their traditional hospitality to the international delegates and prayed for the success of the gathering.

“May God bless the programme, may it bring great grace upon this nation, bring great enlightenment, a new understanding of the grace of God as we build levels of fellowship,” he said.
